Are Your Students Ready For The September International Student Carbon Footprint Challenge?

You and your students are invited to join the International Student Carbon Footprint Challenge (ISCFC) that will begin on September 24. In its first year, the Challenge grew to include high school students from over 30 countries who measured the impact of their transportation, home energy, food, and personal purchase choices using acarbon footprint calculator that is designed specifically for student lifestyles and calibrated for each geographic location.

Each class’s carbon footprint results are then posted on the ISCFC website, and students join international discussions about carbon footprints and possible solutions to shared environmental problems using the Einztein social learning network. As students scrutinize their own carbon production, they look for ways to minimize their impact. Discussions involving students from other areas of the world encourage each student to look beyond the limits of their own community to see environmental issues from a global perspective.

Please visit to the participate page on the ISCFC website where you will find: the invitation letter, quotes from students and teachers, and the participation form that you need to send to enroll your classes in the ISCFC prior to September 24th.

The ISCFC is sponsored by Stanford University, the University of Gothenburg, and the Wallenberg Global Learning Network.
