The Coalition for the Advancement of Science and Mathematics Education in Oklahoma (CASMEO) is honored to sponsor and support OSTA’s Prestigious Jack Renner Distinquished Service to Oklahoma Science Education Award. On behalf of CASMEO a $100 cash award will be presented by the CASMEO President and an Executive Board Member to OSTA’s Renner awardee for 2013 during the OSTA Awards Reception, Friday, November 1st .
In addition, CASMEO will also award each of the four OSTA Outstanding Science Teacher awardees (Elementary, Middle Level, High School, College/University) a cash award of $100.
CASMEO is a STEM-focused consortium of concerned educators, industry leaders and business advocates who have bonded together in order to advance the study of science and mathematics in Oklahoma. This effort is primarily focused upon creating a well-educated, skill-oriented and motivated workforce for tomorrow’s Oklahoma industries and economy. The study of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is of great importance to the Oklahoma economy workforce for the future as the majority of the employment opportunities across the state will require some knowledge, skill and/or background in STEM subjects and applications.
The OSTA Awards Reception will be held Friday evening in Downtown Oklahoma City at the new headquarters of the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board, who received the Renner Award in 2012. This year, OSTA is honored to have the reception sponsored by OERB and PEARSON. Make sure to register for the free reception when you register for the OSTA Conference. If you have already registered for the conference and didn’t select the reception, you can sign in to OSTA Memberclicks and re-open your registration choices at any time.
