The OSTA Awards Recognition reception took place Friday, November 1st at the OERB offices near downtown Oklahoma City. Sponsored by our host, OERB and through the generosity of Pearson Publishing, the
reception is a chance for OSTA members to recognized outstanding achievement in science education and take the time to spotlight a few of the many successful teachers in this state. Over 70 members and
guests took the opportunity to reflect upon some of the incredible things people are doing to educate the children and young adults of this state.
New this year is a partnership between OSTA and the
Coalition for the Advancement of Science and
Mathematics Education on Oklahoma (CASMEO) to provide
a $100 cash award to all of the Outstanding Science
Teachers recognized by OSTA as well as the John
Renner Award recipient. It is CASMEO’s
intention that this be an annual award given to OSTA
Awardees in recognition of their contribution to the
advancement of science education in Oklahoma
