OSTA partnered with UCO to produce Leading by Example for Engineering Design conference this last Saturday in Edmond. Nearly 70 participants shared in lesson presentations from participants from the LEEDS Math/Science Partnership and learned about OERB’s Homeroom program from Carla Schaeperkoetter and Gayla Wright. OSDE’s Science Director Tiffany Niell gave an update of the draft Oklahoma Academic Standards for Science and retired Brigadier General Ben Robinson shared a bit of his own story as he addressed conference participants on the need for a highly trained STEM workforce in Oklahoma.
The LEED Conference was supported by contributions from Pearson Publishing, The Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB) and the Coalition for the Advancement of Science and Mathematics Education in Oklahoma (CASMEO).
